In 1967 Alfa Laval founded a unit in Lycksele for the production of road signs and other items. In 1972 the production began of stainless steel components for use within the company.
In 1988 Texor was acquired by its present owner, Carl Bennet, through his wholly-owned company, Lifco AB. In 1992 Texor saw the start of collaboration with Pharmacia Biotech AB (at present part of General Electric Healthcare Life Sciences) on the manufacture of chromatography columns.
As a step in becoming a subcontractor to quality-conscious companies in the life science sector, a quality-assurance process was implemented, including certification, in 2000
During 2001 the existing collaboration with GE Healthcare Life Sciences grew and the manufacture of a new chromatography column, named Chromaflow, began.
At the beginning of 2005 Texor’s new assembly area came on stream. It has been adapted to allow the assembly of large columns and is equipped with a filtered air system as well as deionized water.
At the beginning of 2007 Zetterströms Rostfria AB in Molkom was acquired as a step towards an increased focus on deliveries of complete systems to the global life science industry.
